Car Eco-Driving
In today's world of carbon footprints Eco-Driving has to play an important role in the future of driving. Once passed your driving test you never stop learning and so Eco-Driving applies to new drivers and qualified drivers alike.

The main advantages of eco-driving that is driving a car sensibly so as not to harm the environment are as follows:

To reduce fuel consumption.
Driving sensibly without over accelerating and choosing the correct gear at any time for the specific situation will reduce fuel consumption. In an eco driving respect this will reduce emissions and also wear and tear on car components meaning a longer life span for brake pads etc.

Route Planning
Choosing routes which are less busy and congested will help eco driving by meaning less time stuck in traffic and thus again reducing fuel consumption considerably.

Improvement of Planning and Awareness Skills
Eco - Driving will benefit from your observation as identifying hazards early will reduce the need for harsh braking thus preventing wear and tear on parts. Using engine braking also helps with this. Obviously less wear and tear means less parts replacement and saves you money and the environment.

Carrying out routine vehicle checks
Eco Driving will be best practised when a car is working efficiently. Emissions, brakes, oil etc are all areas which could reduce a cars performance and efficiency therefore having a detrimental effect on eco-driving.

Alternative transport
Obviously not using a car at all is much better for the environment. Consider using a bicycle or walking somewhere if possible, not only will it help with Eco-Driving but it will also help your fitness. Public transport is another option for example if you are going to town and parking might be a problem then public transport will mean you don't have to worry about it and in many cases the fee for using public transport will be less than the parking charges.

Car Sharing
Eco driving could be greatly helped if more people were to car share, and it will also save you money. If you and some friends are going to the same place whether work or elsewhere then car sharing will reduce emissions greatly.

Reduced loads
Carrying fewer loads in your car reduces fuel consumption and therefore helps eco driving. Make sure you have the minimum load in your car and don't carry unnecessary loads Follow these tips for Eco Driving and fuel emissions can be greatly reduced thus protecting the world in which we live.
